removing bottom growth

Apropos of something (or maybe nothing), this brand spanking new Andrews 28 is doing the Singlehanded TransPac in a week or so. Against my advice, the owner is keeping it in the water in Alameda with no anti fouling paint, only an epoxy barrier coat. Thus, I am cleaning it every 3 to 4 days. And in that time, every single square inch of wetted surface begins showing visible fouling growth.

if I were marine growth I would cling that that as well!!! maybe my little cheap, pos boat has a chance after all LOL

just to update everyone... we (dixiedawg and I) showed up and the growth was not as bad as I thought it would be (1-2"). however (and I should have seen this coming) the 1 small soft spot on the cabin top quickly transitioned into the entire cabintop being suspect. This in combination with the small cabin (smaller than my current boat) led to my ultimate decision to just walk away.

ya know, I thought about taking pics of it but was afraid that I might insult the guy. within 3 hrs of my departure he had reposted it with the additional info and changed the price from 1250 to 500!
