Has anyone used the "Relief Band" for motion sickness? I'm going offshore in a few weeks and I don't want to put my trust in this thing if it's not going to work. It sounds good because you can dial it up as you need it and they claim there are no side effects.

"Seems" to work

I used one of the Relief Bands with the replaceable battery last season when I singlehanded overnight across Lake Huron twice. I would have to say that it "seems" to work, in that while using it I never once felt the least bit gastrically aware. BUT, since I don't always have a problem, my experience is hardly a definitive test. A nice side effect of the device is that if you keep the power way up, the thing sort of gets painful, and it great at keeping you awake. No way you will fall asleep on watch with the band set to its highest level! Though after about 24 hours of this it does get irritating on your wrist, and it can be hard to keep it located directly over the right spot if you are active. But if you decide to get one, be sure to keep spare batteries around, as it can be easy to forget to turn it off.

i sell them and never get a refund

i sell this in my store and have never had one returned and if it did not work they would belive me. but keep in mind they are more for larger ships going out on a 25 foot boat in 7 ft seas well it might not work. but than again you also might not come back so its all relevent.

Lots Of Experience

It is the only thing I have ever given people that provides some quick relief after they get sick. I just used mine with an ill crew this weekend. It brought him from suicidal to tolerable. That's about what degree you can expect IMHO. Not perfect, but significant relief or containment. I think that's a lot. I purchased it when it first came out and am on my third. Rick D.

they work! i usually don't get seasick, but bought them for some of my crew....while fixing our headsail furler anchored in a rough river, i started to feel queasy-put one on, and instantly felt better-went back on the bow and finished my repair, no side effects at all! we've since used them at sea quite successfully on several people

My wife has a pair of grayish elastic bands, each with a white plastic button. They’re worn on the wrist, with the button pressing against the inside of the wrist. They’ve been 100% effective for four years. If she forgets to put them on right away and gets queasy, they even work remedially. They’re available OTC at most drug stores. No batteries - - - no moving parts. Paul s/v The Lord Nelson

Relief Ban VS watch

My daughter-in-law tried the watch type that produces some sort of electrical shock ($100) and didn't work. We gave her the gray elastic wrist bands ($5) and they worked. It was a real good day on the bay then so we'll see when it is a little rough. If they hadn't worked, that would have been the last time she would have gone.

My wife swears by them...

She can even go below and make lunch or read, things that she never dared before we found these. We have two on board, one for her and one for any guest that might feel the need.
