My 2010 Catalina 309 has a 135 Genoa that is ready for replacement now. I’m wondering about a 115 for Lake Champlain conditions.
Recommended headsail size for a Catalina 309?

I don’t have your boat, but when discussed replacing the 150 Genoa on my O’Day 322 (sailed on Lake Michigan), my sail loft how often i reefed the head sail. I said a fair amount, and they recommended I drop down to a 135.
So, how often do you reef the 135? If you reef often, then it makes sense to go a bit smaller.
