I am trying find out where I might get a starboard aft cleat or drawings for one. This looks to have been machined from a block of Aluminum and had a tab welded onto it to attach it to the toe rail.
My 81 doesn't have a cleat attached to the toe rail. I suspect it is a PO upgrade, unless Hunter changed this by 84. Post a photo please, and someone will for sure chime in.
Almost certainly an upgrade. Friend's 1984 did not have cleats on the toerail, just on the coaming. I have seen toerail cleats amidships for spring line use but never at the stern. Not to say it wasn't an option. The '84 had lots of options like clutches with lines led back and a furling staysail. Does your boat have those?
Don't know of any OEM cleats attached to the rail, are there any other cleats at the stern? Like Ed indicates those are usually attached amidships for spring lines. I guess you are free to design your own, some can be found in the Chandleries.
That is usually referred to as a chock. All the H37C models have them. I don't know where they were made originally. Crest Aluminum can supply the toe rail but they don't seem to list the the chocks. Perhaps a metal shop that welds and works with aluminum could help? Or a boat salvage yard?
I have seen these chocks in the boat store at Catalina Yachts (no affiliation) in Largo Florida. The number is 727-544-6681 ask for Lisa Casey. Their inventory consist of over run items so you will want to send her a photo.
