Raw water pump

I have a 1987 C30, power plant is M25 xp. My raw water pump is leaking from pressure releif hole, 1st Q. replace pump or rebuild ( seals etc. ) 2nd Q. Can I replace Sherwood pump with Oberdorfer ( good or idea ? ).

You can get an Oberdorfer. Ours is just great compared to the Sherwood. Much easier access to the faceplate to change the impeller. You can't get discount prices on a Sherwood. DEPCO does Oberdorfers, try a search on our MB on that word, lots of reading.

Either redo the seals, the pump usually is just fine, or swap the pump.

just went thru this, Depco was far more competitive on the impeller, seals and pump than several other well-known suppliers for Universal parts.
