Raritan CP vs Vinegar

Raritan only markets CP as a bowl cleaner...but it's actually the best sump and sink drain cleaner on the planet and requires -0- manual labor to use. I posted instructions in a recent thread (maybe earlier in this one). I can post 'em again if necessary.
As for CP vs. vinegar...they do different things. A weekly cupful--no more than 2--of distilled white vinegar (available from any supermarket) flushed all the way to the tank can prevent mineral buildup in the hoses. It CAN remove buildup, but it's too labor intensive to be worth the effort because it has to be replaced hourly (what all the people who claim vinegar won't work overlook), making muriatic acid a much easier choice. CP can't do that.

I assume the components are proprietary but do you know what the major part is? Is appears to be muriatic acid but claims to contain “special enzymes” which would intuitively not be compatible with an acid solution.

Also, how can adding an acid like this not degrade anaerobic bacteria?

Have used CP in tandem with Odorlos for years and been very happy with it. Half a bottle per season.

C.P is a bio-active (live aerobic bacteria) product, same as K.O. Although the bacteria exhaust themselves after 24 hours, it can remain in the plumbing indefinitely without harm.

Vinegar should never be left to sit in the bowl because it's destructive to soft rubber --joker valves. A weekly cupful--MAYBE 2, but no more--flushed all the way to the tank, then flushed out with clean fresh water after 45-60 minutes will PREVENT mineral buildup in hoses. It CAN clean out a buildup, but it's too labor intensive--must be replaced hourly (the instruction that all the people who insist it won't work always miss),making muriatic acid a much better choice. Muriatic acid should also be rinsed out with clean fresh water after 45-60 minutes.
