Bill,
I know its harder with a B&R rig, but fractional boats really benefit from having the rig tuned to the expected range of wind. We have 4 bands, and we adjust the rig tune every time we go out. There really is no one perfect setting.
Also on fractional boats, vang is so very important. Work hard on getting that set up so it can be played from the cockpit. On our boats the control line is double ended so it come to both sides of the companionway. Off the wind in that breeze you should have someone on it 100% of the time. We call it the 'rip cord', because a big vang ease will spill big air off the main and bail you out of a jam.
Looks like you guys had fun!
