Anybody out there have experience with Quick Attach Swageless fittings? They are Danish, are fully approved by Lloyds but I'd like to know personal experience if it is available.CheersRobb
Hi C. Robb:I have not used the terminals you mention, however I did shorten my head stay on my C30 MKIII, and used a Norseman swagless eye terminal. Easy to follow directions, I have sailed in 25K of wind and maintain about 900lbs tension on the headstay and no problems so far. Norseman terminals are available from West Marine. Sta-Loks also have a good reputation, but I have not used them.Good luckDave S/V Westwind
I've never used them but you can find a lot of discussion on the Brion Toss web site. The principal message there is, beware of brands other than stalock and norseman. There's also a lot on info on preventing corrosion, installing, sealing and lubricating them.
Thanks for the info,I found a reference to Brian Toss' opinion of them, favorable, but those weren't his words. I'll keep looking. These are supposed to be easier to fit and just as strong. They are USCG approved I believe and Lloyds likes them. I think they are also cheaper so I'm hoping I hear nothing but good.CheersRobb
