Quick and easy holding tank pump out device.

I know this topic has come up before, but sometimes is worth repeating. As the popularity of boating has gone down, so has the availability of pumpout options. Marinas have closed or shut down their pumpout stations, and the boats that offer this service are few and far between. Nobody likes dumping waste overboard and it is illegal unless 3 more more miles offshore, but occasionally you have no other choice. The best option is a portable pump that attaches to a cordless drill, available at many hardware stores or online. I have had good luck with Harbor Freight's version. I do make it a point to go offshore to do this task. I recommend flushing it out with fresh water then spraying dry lubricant after use. The combination of salt water, deodorizing chemicals and human waste will kill it after one season, otherwise

I had a boat once that had a macerator, who's outlet was connected to a port on deck. The previous owner described the usage of it with a short piece of hose that attached on deck. This system was nick named "the poop shooter" and was our first line of defense if we came across pirates on the Great Lakes.

I also have a 310 2002 vintage and have as standard equipment a macerator pump fitted to holding tank. At our Dartmouth marina we have an operating pump out station available to all members. However I am puzzled why you would need a drill operated pump for your tank, was a macerator pump not fitted originally? Or am I misunderstanding something?

I have resorted to 5 gallon buckets. I cut a hole in the lid for the hose to reduce spashing. A few trips did the job.

Fix it, there's a screw on the end of the macerater you can turn to un stuck it, try 1st. 2nd take it off and apart to see if the impeller is good, if its completly dead like in motor dead replace it. Much simpler, cleaner and the way its engineered to work.
