Gatch 30,
We have a Hunter 45 CC, purchased new in 2006. It is our third sailboat and our second center cockpit. Basically we love the boat. We have added some equipment that we did not specify when we purchased the boat. Thus far we have added an 8Kw Fischer Panda genertaor, an HRO watermaker, ICOM SSB radio, and a custom stainless steel arch over the transom, with davits for lifting the inflatable, three 135-watt solar panels mounted on the top, along with room for all of the GPS, SSB, and VHF antennas for the additional electronics that we have added.
As for issues, all new boats have them. Luckily most of ours were minor, and the dealer from whom we bought the boat was very receptive to our needs and fixed them all. The biggest problem that we had were the electrical relays that Hunter designed into both the 120-volt AC panel, and the 12-volt DC panel. After 2 years of fighting this, we replaced these two panels with one new Blue Sea AC / DC pynel, with all circuit breakers, and no relays. We also added a Blue Sea rotary selection switch that allows us to switch between, Shore Power, Generator Power, or Inverter Power. This was a BIG improvement over the original design.
With the exception of the electrical panels, I think Hunter did a GREAT job on the boat. 2006 was the first year that this boat was produced, so like any manufacturer I am sure that Hunter has made improvements to the later model 45 CC's.
