Propeller Shaft strut

I have sheered the propeller shaft strut on my Catalina 30 (1974). Has anyone experience the same and if so, what is the proceedure for repair. Thanks, Chris

Chris, I don't have any experience with your situation but, I would seek a profesional, unless your good with fiberglass repair. I know an excellent fiberglas repair person in Bridgeport. I'd be happy to give you his number.. richard@gresham.com

I agree with the previous suggestion of seeking professional help on this one. I bought my C36 with a cracked strut, and it was MAJOR work to have it repaired. I had a yard do it, and as I remember, they cut out the old strut with a sawzall, and then did some carpentry work making a jig to hold the new strut in perfect alignment. This was followed by lots of glass work inside and outside, then re-alignment of the engine. Not for the weekend warrior!
