PROOF that Hunter designs were way ahead of their time….

Well, I have always “felt” that Hunter sailboat designs were way ahead of their time. And now I have actual proof!

Please see the attached 2 photographs of my 1996 Hunter 23.5 sailboat.

In the first, you will see a normal 12 ounce can of Spindrift Seltzer. You can easily see that the top hole in the plastic cover, put there by Hunter, does NOTHING to prevent the can from falling over and spilling out all the contents over the seating area. Keep in mind that in 1996 that size can was all that existed.

Now, in the second photo, you can see that the new style “tall” can fits perfectly. These cans did not hit the market until relatively recently. Perfect fit and no spillage.

How did Hunter do this? How could they foresee the evolution of the design of the lowly beer can 2 decades before they existed?

Anyway, as long as we drink only beer from tall cans on the boat we are all good….???

Well this is certainly new news to me. I have owned 2 small trailerable Hunters, and been on several others, and have never seen any type of insert holder there before….they are all probably in ditches on the side of the highways….

Just found them in the store. Says it will fit the “240”, but I see no mention of the 23.5 model…..but I assume they will fit???

The pictures above look like these Starboard replacements, listed for the 240.

My 23.5 did NOT have cupholders in the original teak coamings. I would also like to know if these would fit...

It is, after all, a sin. Beer should only be hand drawn from a cask in an appropriately kept cellar (see CAMRA recommendations) or from glass!
Basically true. But there's sinning going on en mass regarding beer. I submit the whole light beer movement is abhorrent to the Lord, who after all gave us beer. And it was not light beer. I have a refrigerator with 6 or 8 of the offending cans which I will use to cook shrimp, or last until the snowbirds return. Not at all suitable for my consumption.

I buy the yard crew beer at the beginning and end of the season. Despite the fact that they treat the yard like a bar after 4PM, they took the Modelo and left the PBR
