Well, I have always “felt” that Hunter sailboat designs were way ahead of their time. And now I have actual proof!
Please see the attached 2 photographs of my 1996 Hunter 23.5 sailboat.
In the first, you will see a normal 12 ounce can of Spindrift Seltzer. You can easily see that the top hole in the plastic cover, put there by Hunter, does NOTHING to prevent the can from falling over and spilling out all the contents over the seating area. Keep in mind that in 1996 that size can was all that existed.
Now, in the second photo, you can see that the new style “tall” can fits perfectly. These cans did not hit the market until relatively recently. Perfect fit and no spillage.
How did Hunter do this? How could they foresee the evolution of the design of the lowly beer can 2 decades before they existed?
Anyway, as long as we drink only beer from tall cans on the boat we are all good….???
