Help! I have a problem with the water pumps both in the head and the galley. When starting to pumb I get about a half a cup of water out of the spigot and then it stops. The vent line is clear and the problem is the same with the filler cap of. I replaced one of the pumps with the same results. This fall when I drained the tank in the bow I did it by disconecting the hose under the sink and pumping (sucking) the water out through the line. It took a long time and the water just didn't flow out freely. When checking for obstructions in the line by blowing into it there was no resistance! Any and all ideas are apreciated!

Neither of the pumps in my H260 have ever worked. I've talked to Hunter and they just say the pumps should work. The dealer said he never checked them. Still trying to figure out what the problem is. There is no vent in the tank so that's probably why it drains so slow.

Well there should be a vent for the tank.

Check the port side of the bow and you will find the vent outlet or perhaps I should say inlet. One thing you may want to check is the position of the tank. When ours arrived in Australia the tank was in fact on its side so unless the tank was more than half full the taps sucked air. Simple to fix. A five minute job. The other thing I did do was fit non return valves at the "T" peice where one line goes to the galley, the other to the head. My pumps, since doing these mods' have never stopped working. "However" I am just about to fit a pressure system. Why? Cos I can't be fagged pumping that lever!

If you have any doubht open up the forward false bulkhead, forward of the V-berth. Mine is held with three SS screws and look at the filler and vent lines to the fresh water tank. At the bottom of each hand pump is a check vale that has to be working for the pump to operate. Also after using the pump, I leave the pump handle in the down position this holds the prime so next time It not so hard to prime. Late last year, I installed a small 12V water pump and connected it to the water feed line then to a open fauset in the gally sink with a normaly open push button. So to draw water in the gally all I have to do is press a button, the head fauset I left as came from Hunter

I had the same problem. I replaced the washers inside of the hand pumps and now it works, but it still doesn't work well.

Look for a bad check valve between...

...the hand pumps and water tank or a kink in the water line in addition to what the others have said. alan
