"Portable" Anchor Light?

I would always say that more light is better. I recall being in a large anchorage one memorable 'happy hour' evening and rowing back to our boat in the dark and noticing how little masthead lights sort of got lost among the stars. Helpful to have a light hanging from from the forestay or the boom to orient oneself.
As for drunks, they will do stupid and unlawful stuff and you can't control that, other than calling out the USCG if something happens and logging the call and the incident in detail.

They don't stay lit all night, particularly after a little while. Only good for late night drunks ... which is something.

As for finding my boat, leaving a cabin light on does the trick. The glow through the windows is enough. With LED cabin lights, the draw is trivial, so perhaps that is enough for the deck lighting part of the OP's temporary illumination problem. Just leave a light on.

Here's an update. The boatyard said they'd go back up in the crane and really fix it this time, but I'm afraid at what they might do, and the bill. I found the replacement socket for the Aqua Signal lamp and it's $28! Holy cow, for just a socket!

Anyway, I ordered this:
Five Oceans Stern Light, Anchor Light, LED Boat Navigation Lights, 12V DC, USCG 3NM Certified, 3 Inch Surface Fixed Mount, for Pontoon, Fishing Boats, Bass Boats, Sport Boats - FO3838

$20. Certified, legal, etc.

I have a deck light mounted on the combo arm that's on the radome pedestal, aft, that's never used, and useless anyway, as the bimini blocks any light it throws. So, I'll remove that and figure out how to put this in its place.

Will be good to have even after I eventually fix the masthead one.

O.K., update to the update.

Turns out there's not a good spot to mount that light, so I just ordered a very similar one with a 24" staff, so I can hose-clamp the mounting foot to one of the arms supporting the GPS antenna and small VHF antennas either side of the radome and use the deck light wiring, and that light will be well above and clear of the radmone. Should work fine.
