Here is something I recently learned, the Nirvana song "where did you sleep last night" was a cover of Ledbelly's "In the pines" (That part I already knew) but Ledbelly was covering a much older song that was a combination of two older folk songs "Black Girl" and "Longest Train"... and early recordings date back to the 1870 on wax cylinders.
