We bought our boat last january and motered up from Annapolis to the Sassafrass,,,,,During our trip our belts came loose and we overheated....this caused some major damage. We had the head grinded and new head gaskets along with other work... water pump worked fine thru hull open....we had all the work done and the yard said it was working fine..... Last weekend...we took our first trip out since January..... a 2 hour cruise.......We ran the engine about an hour...evrything was fine...we found an anchorage dropped the hook had a late lunch....ww restarted and everything was fine for about 10 min..then the temp started to climb....normal 195..went past that to 220 then 280...we shut down...We ended up anchoring and spending the night.....Sunday Morn we wake up and try again...motor for about 20 min and the temp slowly climbed back up we shut down when it rose to just over 220.....sailed the rest of the way in until just before the pier..dropped sail and motored the remaining 10 min to slip....engine overheated and this time smoke in the cabin.........shut everything down.yard is now back on the boat.We have a 1985 perkins desiel...........Question is whats causing it??Fouled prop?? blocked intake??,,bad sensor??..thermostate??..We are leaving on a 2 week sail in mid June..would defintltly want solved.thanks for any and all help.Rob
