I have noticed since purchasing my 1994 C270 with the Perkins M20 diesel, that the engine does not start as easily as I would expect. It seems to take a lot of throttle advance, and cranking for a few times prior to firing. I read in the manual to drain the wet muffler if having difficulty starting. I did that, and the engine fired right up. But it seems that having to drain the muffler every time would be a pain. Do others have to do this? Once it starts, it runs really great. Anyone else have this same situation with their Perkins? Any suggestions?
