Peggy,I recently bought a 1984 Hunter 40. The boat has sat in the yard for approximately 2 years. I also got a copy of you book on head odors from the Hunter Rendezvous at Solomons. I was not there, but I my friends said they really enjoyed your presentation. There is a strange odor that I think is coming from the hoses based on your description. The odor does not really smell like what I would identify with a sewer. It is, however, obvious and unwanted. It seems to be strongest in the area between the bulkheads separating the chart table from the aft head. When I remove the hatch to the left of the chart table, the odor is stronger in that area. That also appears to be where some of the hoses are located.1. Can you offer any insight to help confirm (or refute) my suspicion? If the problem is hoses:2. What type of hose do you recommend? (I have seen prices from $2 to $6 per foot.)3. What is the easiest way to replace these hoses? If you do not think the problem is hoses:2. What should I try first? Thanks!Craig
