This spring I plan to remove the numerous coats of paint from my '87TR fin keel bottom. I'm planning to use the Peel-Away system. Does anyone know how many Gals and sheets it will take to do this hull? Thanks!

I have heard the Home Depot sells the same ...

product under a different name of 1/2 the cost of Peel Away. Several posts on the Cruising world website have commented that they saved a pile of money by getting it at Home Depot and that the same company makes both products and the chemistry is the same. Hope this helps.

Practical Sailor says...

the same thing! In their tests they found that the "home version" sold in the hardware store was just as effective as the "marine version" for removing bottom paint.

Peel Away

I've used the Home Depot version of Peel Away and it works great. It took 4 gal to do my C-30, but you need to buy at least 4 times more paper then they supply (I bought a 5 gal bucket that comes with paper. Good luck

peelaway neutilizer

My question is: Using peelaway do you need to use the neutralizer they sell with the PeelAway or is washing by itself OK
