In case anyone is interested, you need 16 feet of 1/8 or 3/16 7x19 stainless steel wire rope to replace the centerboard pendant. Do not use 1x19 wire, it's too stiff to wrap on the drum. It's probably a good idea to replace the thimble, swage fittings and cotter pin at the same time.

The pendant should be replaced if you just bought the boat and every year after that without fail. I'd also suggest lubricating the pendant liberally with lanolin or some other water-resistant grease before installation.

It sure beats having your pendant break in the Travelift and drop the centerboard as the boat is about to be splashed. :redface:
