Pearson 32 Toledo
We have owned this 1982 Pearson 32 since 1986. This is the fin keel model (not the heavier Pearson 323) with the rudder hung on about a 12" skeg. I have seen somewhere that it is a P31 with a modified transom, but have not been able to find specifications/drawings for building a rudder replacement. The rudder post is intact, the stainless plate bent, and the weld to the post torn from the bottom 3-4", and no blade (bottom of Lake Erie). Appreciate any thoughts on sourcing the plans or the mold.

Cooltec, You could certainly have your skeletal rudder rewelded/reconditioned at any welding shop in your area and if you are reasonably skilled in fiberglass techniques could build the rudder yourself. If you have access to another boat of your design, you could take measurements that would allow you to mold your own rudder. If you are not that handy, you'll have to bite the bullet and pay for the job. Another company resource is Foss Foam in Florida who probably has your rudder mold. However, expect to pay several thousand dollars for a new one. Good luck and good sailing, Ron

Rudder removal

Without running aground, what is the best method or tools to remove the P32 rudder? I have not been able to get the shoe at bottom of mini-skeg to move.
