I have a Person 303 built in 1986. I want to install a pad eye on the mast in order to set my whisker pole with the 150% Genoa when sailing.
How far up the mast from the deck should the pad eye be mounted?
I'm installing a Pad Eye on the mast for the Whisker Pole and am wondering about its'location on the mast. I assume it should be placed so when in use it is parallel to the deck. But I have assumed wrong in the past and am not afraid to ask a dumb question.Thanks for your help,Charlie"Good...
My mast had a plastic eye screwed to the front of the mast, roughly two feet up. I also have the light duty Forespar whisker pole that came in the boat, although the two shafts are seized together with galv corrosion. One of these days I will continue my effort to free them or just give up and...
Not a necessity if you only use the 150 but a track with adjustable padeye would give you a lot more flexibility if you use a working jib or a spinnaker. More expensive than just the padeye however ! Just my 2 cents.
