Pearson 27 question

A friend of mine just purchased a 1989 Pearson 27. We took her for a sail the other day. She handles nicely but we kept hearing an intermittent hum, loudest in the aft cabin. The only electrical device running was his GPS. The diesel was not running at the time. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it possible it’s the Hydro dynamics of the wing keel?

If the boat has a Hurth HBW50 transmission, then you are supposed to sail with the transmission in reverse gear to prevent the prop from spinning.

Next time you are out, you could take a look at the shaft and see if it's spinning. Reverse would lock it in place.
Then all you have is the drag :)
Props (pun intended) for folding and feathering props.
