The prettier your boat and accessories the more likely you get robbed. That is My response for an untidy boat, and I believe it.

Woody, thank you for the tip on going in with a steel fabricator with my 25# CQR anchor. Including my anchor in a larger lot of items to be galvanized by the steel fabricator is not a bad idea. I have all winter to see if I can find somebody. Meanwhile, if anyone knows of a group in the Northeast (I'm in Bristol, RI) that might do this, please let me know. Also, perhaps if there were about 5-10 other anchors needing regalvanizing, we might be able to do it for a "group" or bulk rate. I prefer spending about $100 or less to get it done and not the $300-500 minimums being quoted by the local galvanizing shops.

Interesting stuff on the Powder Coating. I hadn't thought of that at all. Has anyone had experience with "PC'ing" an anchor for use in saltwater? I don't think it is a wear issue...but more a corrosive action. The PC idea just might work.
