the topic came up on another thread. I reach hull spead at around 2400 rpm's. I have the specs of my prop at boat but was wondering what others pitch is....... And i guess overal specs. Obviously I have a low pitched prop. Looking to get a new prop maybe next season and want to better understand the subject.
Thanks

Greg,
We have a 3 blade Max-Prop on our boat. It is a CB keel. If yours is the deep keel or wing keel model, the speed may be different as the boat weight is also heavier by about 500 lbs.

We have a 16 inch three blade set at 9.8 inches (say 10"). We cruise at just under 6 kn. at 2300 to 2400 just because the engine sounds happier at that rpm. It will reach about 6.9 kn. at 3400 rpm in about two minutes in smooth water (with lots of black smoke).

We replaced the original two blade 17x11 soon after we got the boat in 1991 and if I remember correctly it would reach just over 6 kn. at around 2600 rpm and peak at 3600 (also with lots of un-burned fuel).
