Just installed my new GPS Garmin 441S on my Edson Pedestal. The problem I had was what to do with the cable wiring! Do I drill a hole into my railing and fight the snake? So after taking my compass off I could see room in there but needed a clean protected shot down the side along the chain to make sure the cable didn't rub on the chain. To do this I used cheap plastic(PVC) pipe the diameter of my cable and it fit great! Put one hole in the side for the barrel to go into the pedestal and piped down below for a clean wiring to power. Here's some pictures..

Good idea and nice pictures. Did you have to do anything to keep the pipe from moving up and down in the pedestal?

No! but I did put a plastic tie after going threw the cable hole at the bottom where the shifter and gas cable are. However, cut the plastic conduit where the cable goes down to the hole drilled that keeps it from going up-down anyway. I installed cable into conduit first then dropped conduit down the pedestal to a stop. Then wiggled It around to let it find the cable hole. Got underneath the floor and pulled down more pipe and then the wires for a snug fit. Plastic-tie the three cables below deck-floor together. Now went above pedestal rotating the wheel could see no movement at all. It was very easy to do!

Good question. Thanks Capt. Rob
