I downloaded the Nov Mainbrace but it did not have the info on the friction lock in it. Crappers.

Sam,
The C-22 Association offers the current issue of the MainBrace for free, to anyone, and the next issue will be out the first of the year, (it's a bi-monthly publication). Once the new current issue is posted on the C-22 Association web site, the old copy is archived. It's no secret when the new issue of the MainBrace comes out. It's noted on many of the C-22 web sites, i.e Facebook, Yahoo, and I normally make a posting also on this site. We started this several years ago to help show folks one of the many benefits of becoming members of the National C-22 Association. Few, if any other sailing Association maintains the resources available to their boat owners like the C-22 Association does.
Shortly after the beginning of the new year, the archived issues of the MainBrace from the past year become available to be purchased as a PDF file to download, or on a CD. But these, as well as the C-22 Tech Manual are only available to members of the Association. It's one of the few things the Association does to make some money to pay for the web site expenses, printing expenses, and maintaining the data collected from over the past 40 years.
Do a search on this site under "MainBrace", you'll find that I have regularly posted when the new issues come out. If folks don't take advantage of it, it's hard to understand why they choose to throw stones later.....
Hope the explanation helps.....
