I am still waiting for the book. It will, without a doubt, be a best seller in the marine community. Movie deal after the book? :)

I think MS has realized that his super identity can no longer be kept a secret. He clearly signs his name to a comment he left below the article.

Hopefully, anyone who tracks him down is just to send him a check!

I don't mind my name being out there, it's on the "About" page of my web site. I just choose to go by a screen name on the net. There are lots of people who know and have known who I am so not really that big of a secret.

I went to a screen name after some nut-bag latched onto me in the late 90's when I was using my real name. he managed to get my email address, phone number, address etc. etc.. He was harmless and a little "disturbed" but it gave me the creeps.. The easy switch was to a screen name... Even my friend Bruce goes by OceanPlanet on the net. He could just as easily go by his real name too as it is not to hard to figure out who he is by his screen name....

Yeah, but I never violated the restraining order! ;)

Ben Ellison calling someone else "odd"? That's funny. Look Ben, he may not be a glossy magazine writer, but boaters depend on guys like Maine Sail to tell us when manufacturers are trying to sell us crap at 2 times the price of perfectly-fine.

He called my site "odd", it is, but it has simply evolved. I am in the process of trying to come up with a more "current" site but want to keep the look and feel. I keep striking out with web developers that can do what I want..

If there is a movie I'll play the part of the guy that needs his boat fixed, of course filmed on location on my boat. Hint Hint :D:D

MS has always given well founded and documented advice; a rarity on most forums. Whatever his name is he is doing a great job - odd or not.
I still think that "Boat Snot" would have been a good brand name for Butyl tape!

Congratulations on the recognition. I have viewed a lot of your pages and they were very helpful. It takes some of the scare out of doing projects when you see how they are done before you do them. The posts Mainesail has done are almost the same as being there in person.

There is only one problem with his posts. We all know that they are not really real because you notice the pristine bilge, the spotless engine, and the fact that there is not one tiny speck of crud anywhere! Hell, Mainesail probably has the barnacles trained to go away from his boat! :D

Maine Sail, Congratulations! You are the best marine resourse that I've had the pleasure to read. I'm almost chagrined at sharing you with other boaters.
Saying thank you really does'nt express enough gratitude to cover all your help but that's the best I can do for now.
Thank you.
Ray
