Finally got the re-built engine back in. Cost to fix a compleatly frozen engine, taking it out, and putting it back in at the marina: $2300. I feel that is a wonderful deal. A new engine would have cost me more than twice that, and now that little universal just purrs. The only things left are the smart pak (Signet, which doesn't work),hot water heater, (who knows if it works or not) and a new interior( ie cushions, oiling the teak, and a new refer. I will do the interior stuff myself, that's my biz. But a new refer is $600. and that can wait. Everything else finally works!!! Total cost: what I paid for the boat, + engine $2300. + a 600' roll of 3/8 line, + all the week-ends between Nov. ll and now. I consider it cheap at half the price, and I know every square inch of that boat, always a good thing. Great forum here, and I will continue to audit it. Fair winds, reef early.
