So we've heard. Ok, so how about we start a viscous rumor that the guy with the hair owns the truck? Or would that be getting too close to Phils request to stay away from politics?

The guy with the hair used to own a yacht with a Captain and crew but maybe he downsized to a trailer boat.

Reminds me of 1994 not Orwell's 1984. Had finished my second back to back drive to FL picking up boats from Smith Mt. Lake, VA. Temp was 7 degrees when I walked into the office and got a call boat was sinking and trailer in the lake. Well loaded up everything and went across the lake and sure enuf no one was around with the trailer sunk in the lake at the end of the long dock. Such a brisk day. So folks, in my birthday suit went diving and tied a chain around the trailer. Came out and was Streaking to the truck to get warm. Lets just say it was a bit Chilly Willy. Mr. & Mrs. owner showed up to see me streaking. What a sight to behold. Arr! Did that once and never again.

I came close to having that happen. Backed the boat down the ramp. Put the vehicle in park. Started to step out as the Jeep. About time my foot hit the pavement, the Jeep started to skid back into the water. Hit the brake, and it stopped. Put it in drive, and had to stomp on it a bit to get all 3 differentials to lock, before it would pull up out. Ever since then, I learned that once I'm lined up straight to the ramp, to switch to part time 4WD, so that the center differential (transfercase) locks. That gives two axles holding, instead of just one.

Performance Cruising Telstar 28 302 Watkins Glen
This was at Watkins Glen last season. Manual transmission, parking cable broke. The owner stepped from behind the truck only to watch it back into the water.
I am thinking a requirement for wheel chocks on manual transmission vehicles might be a good idea.

I just saw a commercial on TV. Car on its side on the road. Towtruck pulled it onto the wheels. Truck operater headed to the car, just to watch it roll off the road and over a hillside. Insurance claim # ....

That just doesn't look right... How are you supposed to line the boat up on the trailer at that angle?

Y'all've got it all wrong. The driver clearly saw where someone lost his trailer due to not using safety chains. This is merely an opportunistic salvage operation.

I watched some old guy (probably younger than me) and a kid load a crab boat on a trailer. Their plan was the old guy would drive the boat up hard onto the trailer. Once the boat was on the trailer the kid would pull the truck forward and off they would go. Fastest boat loading you could imagine. What happened was when the kid pulled the truck forward and the trailer came out from under the boat. The boat smashed hard onto the concrete ramp damaging the out-drive and putting a big hole in the hull.

The old guy was pissed at the kid for pulling up too quickly but we all know it was his own fault for trying to pull-off such a stunt. Like kjretlaw said, "Never rush. Be safe."

Great entertainment.
Power loading- done all the time around here with fishing boats. Does mess up the water right behind the boat though, and some ramps have outlawed it

Or...It could be Fords new prototype which is nuclear powered and fully submersible.
