Hi All,

I have a 1989 O'Day 302 and I wanted to know who the manufacturer used for hatches.

I've got 2 in the deck; in the V berth it's approx. 20" by 20" and the main cabin it's approx. 18" x 13"

The 'glass' part is horribly crazed but don't leak terribly.

I've started shopping for both as well as butyl tape.

Any tips or potential catastrophe I can avoid? Lastly I hope to save the old hatches and replace the glass material.

Thanks

I don’t know if butyl tape is the best choice for remounting the hatches. I tried butyl on my mid-ship hatch (O’Day 322) and found it was a bit stiff, and hard to get enough clamping force from the screws (my hatch was not bolted, just screws).

I would consider a caulk/sealant instead of butyl tape for this application.
