=====Have you opened it up to see what might be wrong? There's very little that can go wrong with them, usually a broken spring, worn out pawls, or grease gone bad. My guess is that on a boat of your size, it's a single speed winch which makes it even easier to fix.
Here's a little tip, take a shoebox and cut a hole in the bottom that just fits over the winch. Slip the box over the winch BEFORE you start taking it apart so if anything wants to jump ship, the box will catch it.
