Does anyone know how long the sanitation hose from the head to the holding tank is and is the pump out hose and head hose two different sizes? Also if you have ever replaced it how difficult was it to reroute it around the boat

I am fairly new here but I can say this because I just replaced my entire sanitation system. The good 1 1/2" hoses are a ***** to bend too much. I bought the Trident 102 Sanishield hoses for everything. I had to put a slight bend in one and it wasn't fun however laying out in the sun and then running in the boat right away and completing the bend made it easier. I believe the inlet and outlet hose including the suck out would be a 1 1/2" hose. It was for my 1985 26'. Only thing that was smaller was the vent hose at 3/4" but I brought that to 1".

Not sure what you mean by head hose...maybe the head water intake hose? If so mine is 3/4" from the thru-hull.

Can't help you with the length...tanks end up in all kinds of places depending on the model year and whether factory or owner installed. But I can help you with the sizes: 1.5" is the standard size for the hose from the toilet to the tank...however, if the toilet is a Jabsco, it could be 1". The pumpout hose should be 1.5". Standard vent line size is 5/8". Toilet inlet hoses are 3/4".

It's the INNER diameter that always determined hose sizes.

If there are bends tighter than the hose wants to bend, break the hose and insert an inline radius fitting. Heating a hose to make bend tighter than it wants to bend willingly can cause the "skin" on the outside of the hose to tear and weaken the hose on the inside of the bend enough to cause it to kink.

Thank you Peggy for the radius tip. Any spec or brand recommendations? Will be looking at the show for replacement. As per your book mine is over due.

You may be able to find 'em in the plumbing department at any hardware store. Be sure the OD (outer diameter) is the right size to fit the hose, 'cuz "regular" plumbing fittings aren't always sized by OD. If you can't, SeaLand is the only source I know of for marine hose fittings. Page 35 in their product guide here: SeaLand Marine Products
Be prepared for sticker shock.

My toilet hose ran down from the head thru the deck and bent back up to the Anti-Siphon atop the Y valve. I was a ***** to remove but I replaced it by a shorter smooth path thru the head's aft bulkhead, directly to the Y valve.

You can see the new direct path here in my washboard photo.

While you are plumbing. You might want to reroute the tank vents.

Mine ran from forward and aft of the tank (starboard) ACROSS the hull under and up to join together at a "T" and vent thru the hull on PORT. Which works great unless your boat heels.

For the NEW vent lines I over-sized the connectors to the tank to 1/2 inch and ran the forward one thru the closet in the quarter berth and with high loop out the hull well above the waterline. The Aft vent now runs to the centerline and AFT going UP to a large loop and venting out also well above the waterline.

Then I replaced the manual maserator pump (which was leaking) with a 12 volt.
