replacing teak or wood trim
Kacey: Attached picture shows cabin-side view of companion-way and original bottom trim on my 87 Oday 222. There is nothing unique about the bottom piece of trim. To replace bottom piece, looks like the best approach would be to match profile of your existing side trim. If you don't have the tools to do it, a woodworking shop should be able to match the existing trim profile.
Kacey,
Replacing any of the trim does not take cabinet maker skills or equipment. Access to a table saw and router would be all that is necessary.
Replacement piece does not have to be high dollar teak but can be other durable wood such as white oak. Or can be of modern wood substitutes which do not rot. And they can be worked with ordinary wood tools.
I recommend getting a piece of wood at Lowes or Home Depot and cutting to exact fit because that would be critial. Too short leaves place for water to drip in. A hand saw could work to cut to size and it could be sanded by hand to obain tight fit. Edges even could be rounded by hand.
Unless you have your boat at a full service marina who does such work, you will get best fit yourself, even if you have to do it more than once.
