The compression post on our 25 was not glassed into the hull .It was glued onto the port bulkhead .
It wasn't difficult to separate and replace .The new compression post was saturated with epoxy for the first 6".

Timm, you're right. It is glued in.
I will put tape all around and sand it in place.
The plywood color is too dark. Hopefully, sanding and a clear marine grade wood coat will open the brightness inside a little bit.
