Oceanis 321 Auto Reefing Rigging

Hello everyone!

I purchased a 1997 Oceanis 321 last year. She has lines run back to the cockpit for reefing. They run from the cockpit, up the mast, and into the boom, but they're not attached to the mainsail. The manual doesn't show a routing or attachment diagram, but it does enumerate specifications for two different lines for reef 1 and reef 2 - a tack line and a clew line. With two different lines called out in the specifications I can only imagine there is block somewhere in the boom.

I'm looking for help understanding how the rigging should be setup and ultimately operated.

Thanks in advance to anyone familiar with this system who can lend a hand!

Paul

Probably some form of single line reefing. There are a few different schemes; search on single line reefing and you will see a few . May have been added or modified by a previous owner.. good luck with it

I am assuming that you have a “classic mainsail.” If no one on this site can help you, I would reach out to customer service at Neil-Pryde sails, the supplier of OEM Beneteau sails. They should be able to help you.

I found a partial diagram and some written instructions that answer my question in the French version of the manual. Hopefully this helps anyone else who has the same confusion in the future. Although it isn't shown in the diagram, I'm almost certain there is a block in the boom. Full manual and screenshots of the relevant sections attached for reference.
