Yep. Z-spars masts on the 192 and 222 have a reputation for being a bit weak. The boats often came with a Dwyer mast, which is more robust.
I would call Rudy at D&R, and see if he knows anyplace up around him in New England (where there were many O'days) that might have a used mast.
Worst case scenario, you could buy a new mast. Rudy sells full masts. I don't know if they are Dwyer (Damco) or Z-spars. I suspect they would be Dwyer.
You could also probably get from Dwyer. Z-spars parts are also available from
www.rig-rite.com, but I don't know if they have whole mast sections. I know Rig Rite has Z-spars mast foot castings, etc.
This is really sucky for you, I'm sorry. Reminds me that I don't know how old my standing rigging is, and I should just replace it all to be safe, even though the visual inspection has been ok.
