I own a 1985 O'day 31, love the boat, but some of it's details as far as finish quality is less than ideal. I pride myself on trying to keep her in as close to bristol condition as I can. As such, I've been replacing and trying to improve her appearance as much as time, money, and energy allows me.
The previous owner has made a repair on the forward section of the starbord deck, next to the pulpit attachment. He did not match the color or texture of the rest of the deck, which causes to make it look like what it is, a patch. An ugly at best.
I need a source for the templates, to make the non skid paint look like the rest of the original non skid on the deck. I called Rudy, but he did not have any leads, but I know there is someone out there whom has repainted their decks and can send me down the right path. Thanks

Orens. I am currently working on a 27 restoration. See 'And so it begins' by 25yearslater under bigger boats. There is a major systemic problem with reprinting gelcoat non skid decks. I am at the point of working out the problem. You are looking for Gibco Flex Mold by the way.

There were three as far as I know. There were two diamond shapes the 301 and 319 with the 312 being a basket weave pattern. Mas Epoxies will send you a sample if the pictures don't help. Check the pattern on your boat very closely as they are small and are easily confused.

thank you, already called Gibco and spoked to a Gent whom sent me to Mas epoxies where I watched the video. I need to measure my area and get some of those samples to see which one fits best, is hard to tell by the photos. but I got lots of areas I can touch up with that pattern. Another question, how do you get to the bottom plate of the stanchions, I want to remove them and rebed them, I feel I have some leaks, yet, I cannot see the nuts attached to the bolts holding them in place because of the interior liner.

I have some photos on page 1 or 2 of a way to get to the inboard nuts without drilling a hole in the liner. Someone carved up my liner pretty good to get to them so I was able to explore that question for Sailingcal21. Forget ever getting them back in that way though. Since I'm redoing my complete core and deck I embedded tee nuts in the deck so the stantion bases can be removed at will and the epoxy protects the balsa core from water, no sealant required but I'll seal them anyway. The outboard nuts are accessible between the liner and hull with a deep well socket.
