I'm actually thinking about moving the contraption further forward before the front brace. Just need to drill a new hole for the locking bolt so I can move the wheel closer to the tailor base... That way it is closer to the center line of the trailer. Don't think that is really necessary as the weight of the boat rests way back where the keel brace is.
Actually that is not a bad idea! You can probably switch places with trailer jack. I believe that would make the trailer pretty stable if you have to use a strap!
