ok....now it's time to get serious. If you've been on the fence, now's the time to make a decision. Chelsea Yacht Club, Hudson River New York July 11-13. Come by boat, by car or by plane (train too : ) there are hotels, for non sailing owners. Bar Bee Que and music on Saturday Night (don't forget to bring your guitar/harmonica/musical talent), sailing all weekend (with a race on Saturday), a possible trip on Saturday to either West Point or the Vanderbuilt Mansion in Hyde Park. I'll need real soon a total for the caterer.

I"ll play along

By now you know what my answer is, but to show that I'm a team player, I'm submitting a formal RSVP. Yes, "EmmieLou" will be there with a crew of 3. Projected arrival sometime Friday afternoon, in the company of a mini-flotilla ("Free Spirit," "Fan go foill," "Yeraz 2," maybe others). See you there. I am SO-O-O-O jazzed up for the rOnDAYvous! it's now June...........

come on people (and I'm NOT talking to those of you who know how much fun this is already.) I'm talking to those of you who have sat on the fence long enough or are a bit timid about taking the plunge. NOW'S THE TIME!!!! To meet new friends, see a bunch of O'Day sailboat (in every size range), eat, drink, be merry. Listen to (and play) some music Even if you live too far away to sail your boat, drive, fly, take the Amtrack........there are hotels close (Stewart Intl. airport is a few miles away) we're right on the Metro-North/Amtrack railroad (Poughkeepsie is Amtrack and New Hamburgh is the closest station for Metro North) It's time to step up to the edge and take the plunge.................

Mike

Maybe email who ever came last year in case there not following this thread and for those of you who are sitting on the fence I can tell you after three years of sitting and I got off last year and had a blast. I also met a lot of old timers who couldn't make the sail who came by car. Any one got a picture of us chowing down all that great food?,the only pictures I have with everyone together came out to dark (flash failed)

I started one of the batches of homebrew that I am bringing

last night,*666 just in case Pete and Mike haven't been beating the drums hard enough. Pete, if I remember correctly, your headed up river Thursday? I want to try to join the flotilla. Also, has Erick responded? He tells me he is attending, and will more than likely have his Javelin in tow. Rick

Erick's in

I've heard from Erick, who said he's in, w/ or w/o the Javelin. As for the upriver flotilla, the plan now is to head up starting on Thursday (exact time TBD, depending on current), and head for Tarrytown, Nyack, Croton or some other more-or-less midpoint. Spend the night there and then finish the trip Friday with an easy run to Chelsea. So far, I know the traveling party will include me, RAD, RockawayPete, Brennans and possibly a couple others. The more the merrier, I say. Last year we had 5 boats heading up the East River to Milford, and I thought that was impressive. (So did Mike Novitsky, who saw us cruising by from the window of a passing subway train on the Manhattan Bridge.) So no reason we can't add even more. Details will follow, including cell phone numbers and proposed VHF contact channel. Pete s/v EmmieLou (O-322) Little Silver, NJ

Hmmm...

Bob, I didn't think it was you -- actually, my first guess would've been Dave Reitman. But I'll check the photo files I have on my computer at work to see what you were wearing that night. (Of course, damn near everyone was wearing the commemorative rOnDAYvous polo shirt, so I may not be able to tell who's who.) Anyway, don't take it too hard if it is you. I recently had the same rude awakening when I happened to get a look at the back of my head. Hair today, gone tomorrow. Pete s/v EmmieLou (O-322) Little Silver, NJ

Vendor?

I'll try to arrange rOnDAYvous ballcaps if that's what most folks want. Only thing is, I'll need to come up with a vendor post-haste, since my friend who did the shirts is strictly a silkscreen shop, and hats should be embroidered. Still, I'll check with him (or his website) to see if it's something he can provide. Personally, I lean toward the t-shirt or polo shirt, because I have so many caps already and can't possibly wear them all. Shirts, on the other hand, are always useful, and always manage to wear out eventually. Besides, I have a really cool design left over from last year that I never got to use. Stay tuned for an update. One other thing: After checking some other photos, I have to agree, Bob. It is you. Welcome to the club. Pete s/v EmmieLou (O-322) Little Silver, NJ

I love it!

I'll take one small and two large with Free Spirit 32 and if we have hats I'll take them too so I can cover up the top :)
