I recently purchased a 73 oday mariner. THe owner reports it had not been in water for 10 years or so. The previous owner showed me the thru hull cockpit drain was broken and this was the reason the boat had water in it. I bought it assuming this was the case. After bailing the boat, water continues to puddle inside the boat(It is sitting on a trailer out of the water!) It has not rained for a number of days so it is not rain water. Looking inside there is a trickle of water coming from the transom area. Also more water is pooling where the mast support is located. The hull appears solid as does the deck, except for some flexing forward of the cabin. Could there be water in the foam floatation? Or a worse case scenario? Also it appears that there was water leaking though the deck to hull joint. I have removed the rubber rub rail but I am hesitatn to remove the hard platic liner that is stapled through. What is the best way to reseal the hull to deck joint? THere are other problems (centerboard needs refinishing) and cosmetic issues but these are the ones that are starting to make me nervous.Any help is appreciated.
