Still looking
I went and looked at a 1989 Olson 34. It is a very fast racer/cruiser with a phrf of 99 and a tiller to boot. No go. Project boat. I would consider it if it were closer. It had leaking keel bolts, water damage on the interior with water stains 4 inches above the sole, and many gelcoat repairs on the port topsides. Structurally it seemed fine although I would need to have it surveyed. Not ready to shell out that cash on a boat that is really my second choice. Maybe if it were pristine. Anyone, still looking for a late model Ericson 34 if you know of one.Either way, I am always looking to do upgrades on my Pearson 28. It is in like new condition and we enjoy sailing her very much. We just feel we need a little more speed and creature comforts.I know you are in Maine. Where do you keep your girl? I am at Centerboard Yacht Club in South Portland. If you are local, you should come racing on wednesday nights in the summer. Just watch out for Franklin;-)Here is a link to my photo website.Tim R.
