Bill:I also was looking for new instruments after the last one finally failed (15 years). I am replacing Navico 200 instruments.I had read an article in Practical Sailor and contacted a couple of Marine Electronics companies that sell most of the major brands and the Nexus units turned out to be highly recommended. These units have just about anything and everything that you would ever want. The Nexus 3000 System comes with a Compass, Wind, Depth, Speed etc. It is an integrated system with a CPU. You can also get a smaller system (Nexus 2000) that gives up a couple of features for less money. You should do your own evaluation, but it is a SYSTEM that is worth considering.www.bruntonmarine.com One of the advantages to this system is that you can have a single or multiple displays and they are daisy chained together. This allows you to have a single wire running up the pedestal or to your console. You may also have a display down below with an anchor watch or what ever features you want in addition to the ones in the cockpit.
