The sail looks to be too big…assuming it is raises as high up the stay as it can go (At the top). If this is true, a pendent doesn’t help at all.
What are the measurements of the “stock sail” that you purchased? And what is the length of the forestay?
My 130 Genoa on my O’Day 322 hits my pulpit too, but not like that.
I don’t think the sail is right for your boat.
