New flooring for C-30??

I just purchased a 1983 30 with a recently installed "carpet" that just looks like an eventual nightmare.Has anyone ever head of a teak or other wood type floor being installed over the original fiberglass floor base?Thinking it would upgrade interior appearance.

I installed a teak and holly floor in my 1987 Cat 30. It can be done using 1/4 teak & holly plywood which is thin enough to bend to the contours of the fiberglass floor. You'll need two sheets of 4X8 1/4 teak & holly. Good luck, remember thought to treat the bottom of the plywood before installing so as to prevent water damage from underneath.

Teak Cabin Sole

Gougeon Bros have an article in their database on teak strip retrofitting over fiberglass. They manufacture West System epoxy. I heard it said that buyers prefer 100% stock appearance on a used boat, but if it's a professional job, I don't think it would hurt resale value.
