New condo development?

I keep my '86 Catalina 22 on dry dock... and had a surprise when I showed up yesterday to go out for a cloudy day sail... apparently the motor mount on my beloved 22 had become an unsanctioned condo site... for what I can only describe as a bird-brained developer! The developer flew off in a hurry when I came around the back of the boat... but this is what she (I believe!) left behind:

Fortunately only the developer had been there... no offspring, or offspring to be, were in residence. Although it was with some remorse, I did remove the new structure and cleaned up the mess the developer made on my rudder and cockpit seats. Not sure what to do to dissuade this activity in the future... any suggestions? I'm also considering renaming the boat... currently known as "Lucky Dog"... to something else... the "Love Nest" seems appropriate... any suggestions there would be welcome as well.

Cheers,

Dave.

House wren most likely. The male will make numerous nests in the hopes that a female will find one suitable. I had one make a nest in a pair of boots I left on the front porch.

Watch out for the tree huggers. Some species of birds are protected and had that been one of those, you wouldn't have been allowed to move the boat or disturb the nest in any way. Sometimes doing the right thing sucks.

Those developers are hard to stop. Industrious and quick. I had one get half a nest built in my tote while I was swimming laps. More activity around helps them to move on.
