Salt on the roads can be pretty bad up North. Two years ago we drove to Florida and ran through a snow storm in New York and Pennsylvania. They sure do use salt. By the time we got to Florida the car had dried out but there was a LOT of salt.

That's not my car but it was just as bad, if not worse.
We stopped at a gas station in Orlando and a guy said "Dude! What happened to your car? It looks like a zombie."

YOU guys have the salt and the Ziebart Undercoating spray.

We have red volcanic pumice that they sprinkle on the snow. It does not melt anything but gives a bit of grit-grip to the snow so you can control a car while driving on the snow.

The stuff leaves your car looking like it has been driven through red sandy dust storm. The stuff gets everywhere. In and out side the car. Do not try to wipe or scrap it off. If you value your paint job. Think 60 grit paper.

Soapy water and lots of it is the trick.

you guys are making me nauseated with the horrors' of defacing my Love! Please stop. Its "wicked pissah" after all!
The boat was picked up and stored by Paul of Continental marine for a fair price and he expedited it several days earlier than he promised! He has been all that I could hope for, honest, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and probably the biggest-he got along well with the emotional widow! Thanks for the great recommendation! great bunch of guys-except the horror stories ! thanks now to get it down here and splashed asap! Ps-we can sail all year long down here but I prefer when the water is above 80 degrees F

I had to laugh at this. We live on the red volcanic stuff here on Maui. The rain splashes it onto houses and turns them red. The dust settles on buildings and turns them red. You can even buy tee shirts that are stained red with it. The red, of course, is iron oxide. When we walked around our new house with a big magnet to pick up nails, the dirt jumped up and clogged the magnet!

I got it for an insane low price!
Moving it - quickly, Tears that it is gone, storage, transport to Florida.
Someone once said, "there is no free lunch."
And the refit has not even started.

Good luck

Nothing like a hard slap in the face, thanks. But I have faith that I can do something to get around that? I hope.
