My better half is not happy. We need a ladder that we can climb from dingy to onboard with. Anyone have answers?

Boat Ladders

May I respectfully suggest you look at

1. a West marine catalog (paper or on-line) or the chandlery on this very website or any other chandlery or that matter

2. do a Google search on "boat ladders"

3. look around your marina

I think the reason Roger and I have taken this tack is that boat ladders are so ubiquitous that the question really comes out of right field at us. It really has only a few simple answers, and the few varieties that are available have been pretty well documented.

Aft ladder off your transom, usually built into the stern pushpit; or hanging ladders from either the transom or the side of the boat.

EDIT: It seems you already have a ladder. If so, may I guess that it gets too bouncy at the stern to use comfortably? If so, buy a ladder you can use at the side of your boat.

I have seen the ladders in West Marine and I know that they sell them everywhere. What I dont know yet is which one works the best for a 275 pound man. I am hoping that there are enough readers to respond with what worked best for them. We are very new owners and are always eager to hear how other Catalina Owners have dealt with our similar situations. There must be some of you that remember what it was or is like to climb from a dingy into the sail boat. I wish I had a camera because it is down right funny to watch. The ladder that is on the transom is good for about a 80lb child thats it and having the outboard there makes it a bad spot to get in and out of dingy.
