My swim ladder.

The 2 legs that stick out from the frame of the ladder are missing the plastic/ rubber caps that actually make contact with the stern.

SUDDENLY they are BOTH missing. Which leads me to believe something unsavory has happened to them and it seems odd that they would both be missing when they were both there last week. :cussing:

Anyway they are 1" caps. Where do I get replacements. I've been searching and no joy.

Crutch Tips

I found rubber crutch tips at my local Lowe's store. They come in a variety of diameters. They worked better than the originals, and they are cheap.

2 things you can use successfully for the ladder ends--there is , in walmart, better known as wally world, tips --i found them in the tool section next to the vacuum cleaners in slidell, la......also can use tennis balls....both are inexpensive...

go to your local ace hardware or drug store and ask for crutch tips...and when you get them put ss flat washers in them so the tubing of your ladder wont cut the inside rubber when under pressure.....

The hardware stores have them, the drug stores have them, the super markets have them, walmart has them.

Lowe's Has them as well

Look in hardware. They don't call them crutch tips (probably chair ends). As I recall I got 4 for under $2.00.

Did you notice in Steve's google link that Worst Marine was selling 4 chair tips for only $12.49? They must be far superior to the identical ones Ace Hardware sells for $1.29.

Imagine my surprise.....lol
I used the crutch tips I had hanging around from some old injury and put the washers in them as suggested.......

They work great. Tight fit and problem solved.

Thanks again.

Ed, next time you can try the Pet bottle cap. If its not tight, just run a short length of self vulcanising tape around the 1" pipe and screw the cap in. That's what I use for my 1" stanchion top when I lost the stanchion end cap.
